Nasa Shuttle Launch - Discovery Takes Flight One Last Time

Space shuttle Discovery, the world's most traveled shuttle, launched today for it's last voyage, heading for the international space station.  The Nasa shuttle launch of Discovery is the final voyage of the oldest of Nasa's three remaining shuttles at 39 years.  It is the first one to be decommissioned.

An amazing 40,000 people came out to watch the Nasa shuttle launch which I would have to think is the most ever to attend one.  That's like the same amount of people that go to a professional sporting event.

Of note, aboard space shuttle Discovery is Robonaut 2, the first humanoid robot in space.  Nasa also stated that the the shuttle inspection showed no problems with the exterior tanks.
